DAY 1

The first day of the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project “SUSTAINSafe – Agro Hazardous Waste Education for a SUSTAINable and Safer Future” was successfully implemented in Larissa, bringing together partners and participants from Greece, Romania and Türkiye 🤝🌍

During the first sessions, participants explored the fundamentals of Agro-Hazardous Waste Management, discussing:

🌿 sustainable waste management practices in agriculture

A key focus of the day was the European Regulatory Framework and compliance obligations related to hazardous substances and waste management, including:

The discussions highlighted the importance of:

DAY 2

The second day of the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project “SUSTAINSafe – Agro Hazardous Waste Education for a SUSTAINable and Safer Future” focused on practical aspects of safe agro-hazardous waste management and sustainable agricultural practices.

Participants from Greece, Romania and Türkiye worked together on key topics including:

🏷️ CLP Labelling Requirements and Application

♻️ Waste Collection, Segregation and Disposal Methods

🌍 Circular Economy Models in Agriculture

🌱 Waste Reduction and Sustainability Strategies

The day concluded with an interactive group activity, where participants collaborated to design innovative and sustainable waste management solutions, applying the knowledge and skills gained throughout the training sessions.

💡 Through discussion, teamwork and exchange of experiences, participants explored how safer waste management practices can contribute to environmental protection, occupational safety and a more sustainable agricultural sector.

DAY 3

The third day of the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project “SUSTAINSafe – Agro Hazardous Waste Education for a SUSTAINable and Safer Future” took participants beyond the classroom and into the real world of waste management and environmental compliance.

📍 Participants visited the facilities of @APOSTIROSIS S.A. in the Industrial Zone of Velestino, Volos, one of Greece’s leading companies in the field of hazardous waste treatment and environmental services.

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into:

♻️ Hazardous waste management procedures

🛡️ Environmental protection measures

📦 Collection, transportation and treatment processes

📋 Regulatory compliance and safety requirements

🌍 Sustainable waste management solutions

A special highlight of the visit was the discussion with Mr. Moraitis, Head of the Factory, who shared valuable expertise and practical examples from the company's daily operations. Participants engaged in a fruitful exchange of ideas regarding the challenges and opportunities related to hazardous waste management, sustainability and environmental responsibility within the agricultural and industrial sectors.

🤝 The study visit provided an excellent opportunity to connect the theoretical knowledge gained during the LTTA with real-life applications and industry practices.

DAY 4

The fourth day of the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project SUSTAINSafe – Agro Hazardous Waste Education for a SUSTAINable and Safer Future focused on how digital technologies and interactive learning can transform the management of agro-hazardous waste.

Throughout the day, participants explored:

🤖 Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and digital tracking systems for waste management

📊 Smart monitoring tools and data-driven compliance, supporting environmental protection and safer agricultural practices

🚨 Emergency Response Simulation, where participants took part in a role-based exercise responding to a simulated chemical spill, strengthening their decision-making and emergency preparedness skills

🎮 An engaging Genially-based Gamified Learning Session, where partners presented interactive educational games developed within the project, demonstrating how innovative digital tools can make vocational education more effective, engaging and accessible.

💡 The combination of technology, practical simulations and gamification showcased how innovation can strengthen environmental safety, improve regulatory compliance and support the development of green skills across Europe.

Together, we are preparing a new generation of professionals for a safer and more sustainable future!

DAY 5

The final day of the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project SUSTAINSafe – Agro Hazardous Waste Education for a SUSTAINable and Safer Future marked the successful completion of an inspiring week of learning, collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The day focused on:

- Developing Sustainability Action Plans to ensure the long-term exploitation and impact of the project's results.

- Conducting the post-training evaluation and participant feedback, assessing the knowledge and skills gained throughout the LTTA.

- Awarding Certificates of Participation and reflecting on the achievements of the week.

A special highlight of the closing day was the participation of external guests, who were introduced to the project's main results, including the educational materials, Digital Handbook and e-learning platform. Their valuable feedback and constructive suggestions will contribute to the further exploitation and sustainability of the project's outcomes.

Throughout the week, participants from Greece, Romania and Türkiye strengthened their knowledge on agro-hazardous waste management, environmental safety, circular economy and digital innovation, while building lasting professional connections and exchanging good practices.
